(Stop and think about this) My dad had been complaining of chest pains for several weeks leading up to the day he was rushed to the hospital. He was also not eating normally, took frequent trips to the restroom, and had the feeling that he could not get enough to drink. We assumed maybe it was a cold or possible flu bug or stomach virus. The weeks progressed and he was eating less and sleeping more. He could only drink juice, and drank very little water. My mom had to give him substitutes for the nutrients that he was missing from not eating with things like Ensure and pedialyte. My mother took him to the county hospital where the doctors misdiagnosed him and sent him on his way with a prescription for acid reflux.
