YOU JUST CAN'T BE BIG BABIES FOR ALL YOUR LIVES:

The Christ Believers life is more than simply saying a prayer of commitment to Christ. It is following Jesus not only as your Savior but also as your Lord. If your only source of spiritual intake is hearing other people preach sermons, then you will be in a relatively weakened state spiritually. There is a place for teaching and preaching, but you have to learn how to cut your own food, so to speak. You have to learn how to feed yourself spiritually.

Hebrews 6:1 tells us, “So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.”

In short, we need to grow up as believers and not be spiritual babies forever. We need to grow up to be men and women of God.

Hebrews 5:11-6:3 "Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up…" 1 Peter 2:2 Nobody should stay as infants. God's sons and, daughters should grow. We must move on to maturity. And God has provided the milk of His word to help you do so. This teaching will clarify how you can indeed move from spiritual infancy to spiritual maturity. Make this real in your life my brothers and, sisters!

Nobody should stay as infants. Christ Believers should grow. We must move on to maturity.

And God has provided the milk of His word to help you do so. This sermon will clarify how you can indeed move from spiritual infancy to spiritual maturity. Make this real in your life God's sons and, His, daughters!



About this, we have much to say, and it is hard to explain since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles Christians: "of the Word" of God. You need solid food, not baby food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

If you believe in Jesus Christ, if you are born again, I believe the deep desire of your heart is not to remain in spiritual infancy but to move on to maturity. And so, this morning, we're going to look at the subject of spiritual babies, how the author of Hebrews identifies a problem in the Church, that many of them have been in the faith for quite some time but they've remained infantile, they've remained as spiritual babies. And I find this a very encouraging subject because as we look at what he says, we may be encouraged to move on and grow, and be mature in Jesus Christ. Notice this is what he writes for All of us to grow up biblically, spiritually in the faith: Amen.
