THE ONE, JESUS CHURCH:
CHRIST JESUS, Built, ONE Church:
When Jesus met with His disciples in Caesarea Philippi, He asked, “Who do THE Jews and, religious people say that the Son of Man is?” ( Matthew 16:13 ). After they responded with different answers that others would have given to that question, He turned the question toward them: “But who do you say that I Am, Peter?” ( Matthew 16:15 ). Peter spoke up and answered Jesus’ question correctly: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” ( Matthew 16:16 ). This fact was important, not only because it identified Jesus, but also because this would have an impact on the Church.
“And Jesus said to him, Peter ,‘Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this Rock I will build My Church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it’” ( Matthew 16:17-18 ). Where is it found or written in your bible it says, to pass down the Church to family members afrer the pastor or leadership dies?
The fact that Jesus was and still is the House of God “the Christ, the Son of the living God” was the foundation upon which His Church would be built. Understanding that the Church is His Born again, Holy Spirit-Filled and Water Baptized in His Name accord to Acts 2:37-38, that we are “the Christ living and loving Church, the Son of the living God” is necessary to answer the other questions we will consider in the subsequent lessons of this study. The religious buildings you and so many calls homes that are supported by Old Testament giving such as outdated Hebrew tithing are by religious men and women, But, the One Church that Jesus Christ Himself built is supported by Free will heart giving only and the wealth, money and blessings are for God's spiritual born again sons and daughter, which means born again Jesus Believers.
In addition to that, notice that Jesus promised to build His Church ( Singular ). In other words, Jesus Christ did not tell His disciples that He was going to build a plurality of religious churches buildings; He was going to build just One Church Body, One Spiritual Family, Spirit-Filled Jews, and Gentiles.
Apostle Paul explained to the brethren in Ephesus, “And the Father put all things in subjection under Jesus’ feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the Church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all” ( Ephesians 1:22-23 ). Jesus is the Head over the Church ( Singular ). Again, the Bible indicates that Jesus has just One Church Body.
Later in the letter to Ephesus, Elder Paul used the illustration of a marriage relationship to describe the relationship between Jesus and the Church ( Ephesians 5:22-24, 32 ). When God established the institution of marriage, He made it to be between one man and one woman ( Ephesians 5:31;) ( Genesis 2:24 ), not one man and multiple women. In the same way, we read about Jesus with His One Church Bride, His Wife.
However, the New Testament does also speak of Churches ( Plural ). When Apostle Paul wrote to the saints in Rome, he said, “All the churches of Christ greet you” ( Romans 16:16 ). What is the difference between singular and plural uses? One we are added to, the other we join ( Acts 2:47; 9:26 ). Let us consider these points further.
The One Church that Jesus built ( Singular ) is the universal Church Spiritual Family. Though the term “universal church” is not used in the New Testament, the concept is described. But we need to be sure we properly understand the concept if we are to use this term.
When the New Testament refers to the One Church, this is the body of all those who are saved. On the day of Pentecost when the gospel began to be preached and Believers started responding to it, Luke recorded, “And the Lord added to the Church daily such as should be saved. Jesus Christ did not add religious buildings, But He added His Believers brothers and, sisters in the faith” ( Acts 2:47, ). Those who were being saved were added to the one church. In describing the relationship between Jesus and the church by using the illustration of the marriage relationship, Paul wrote, “Christ also is the head of the Church, He Himself being the Savior of His body” ( Ephesians 5:23 ). Jesus is the Savior of the body (His One Church ), which means the Church is the body of the saved God's sons and daughters.
This also means that there is no salvation outside of Christ Jesus. Elder Peter affirmed this when he and John appeared before the Jewish council and said: “And there is Salvation in No One Else; for there is no other Name under heaven that has been given among men by which We Must Be Saved” ( Acts 4:12 ). Therefore, if anyone is saved, it will be through Christ in the One Church Spiritual Family that He built.
But for now, the point we need to remember is that The LORD GOD JESUS CHRIST is THE ONE, who adds Believers to the Church ( Acts 2:47 ).
In My Conclusion, But Not Finished, With This Yet!!!
Jesus built just One Church and Salvation is only found in His Church. If we want to be saved, we need to Call out to Jesus Christ, for whoever calls on the Name of Jesus will be saved, and He will add us to His One Church Family Body. God's sons and daughters. Amen.*
