( There Are No And Again, NO Chief Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Etc )

Please, allow me to start right off in First Peter 5:3 contains a wonderful description of a balanced God-ordained ministry: “Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being examples to the flock.” The Minister's authority is not something to be “lorded over” by the Church; rather, Ministers are to be an example of truth, love, and godliness for God’s flock to follow. ( Study also 1 Timothy 4:12.) Ministers are “the stewards of God” ( Titus 1:7 ), and they are answerable to God in the Lord Jesus Christ for their leadership in the Church family.

Some Ministers consider the title “overseers” as a command to have their hand in everything. Whether it’s running the financial offerings selecting Ministers under their control or picking out people or members for their servants, some Ministers feel it is their duty to be involved in every decision-making. Not only is this exhausting for the Minister, who finds themselves in every committee meeting, but it’s also hampering others from using their God-ordained spiritual gifts in the Church Body. Ministers can oversee and delegate at the same time. In addition, the biblical model of a plurality of Elders, along with Deacons appointed to assist the Members and Elders, precludes the Pastorate from becoming a “One-man Show like in so many fellowships of our day.”

The command to “rule” the Church is sometimes taken to extremes as well. A Ministry Team's official responsibility is to govern the Church family along with the Elders, and our focus should be primarily spiritual, attending to matters such as serving, edifying believers, and equipping the Saints to do the work of the ministry ( Ephesians 4:12 ). We have heard of Pastors, Bishops, Founders, Over- seers who seem more Dictatorial than shepherd-like Jesus Christ, requiring those under their authority to seek their permission before making getting married, learning from other Ministers and Spiritual Leaders, etc. Such men, it seems to us, simply desire control and are unfit to serve the Church of God (Study 3 John 1:9–10 ).

The Bible truth of the five-fold ministry comes from Ephesians 4:11, "It was God who gave some to be (1) apostles, some to be (2) prophets, some to be (3) evangelists, and some to be (4) pastors and (5) teachers.". Ephesians 4:12-13

However, Ephesians 2:20 informs us that the Church is "built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as ( THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE." ) the apostles and prophets are the foundation of the Church, and we are still building up believers today, God's sons and daughters, the Saints! Yes, by all means, Jesus Christ is most definitely active in His Churches today, His role as ( THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE ) of His Church was completed with His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. the work of Supporting, Unifying, Building Up, Equipping, and Sending Saints Out to do Ministry or Ministries. In this truth, work is not done or finished and must be completed, and so must the work of All Ministers ongoing until the Church grows up under THE HEADSHIP, THE LEADERSHIPSHIP, OF ALL, THE ONE AND ONLY CHIEF OF ALL, THE LORD GOD JESUS CHRIST.
God’s Word. In that truth, the five-fold ministry is still active today. Amen.

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Church!
