ABOUT SENIOR APOSTLE & MESSENGER, ELDER JAMES R WINFREE SR.
An Overview of the Ordained Ministry and Global Mission of Senior Apostle James Winfree Sr.
I was born to Mr. Otis Winfree Sr. and Mrs. Gladys Winfree in Houston, Texas, specifically in the small community of Smith-Addition. I was raised in a close-knit neighborhood alongside my eight brothers and nine sisters. At the age of thirteen, I became a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church, and I also attended other local houses of worship, including Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and Jesus Christ Holy Temple. It was at the latter that I served under Pastor Clement Dorsey and his devoted wife, Mother Elect Dorothy Dorsey; this is where I first received my call to the ministry, though I was hesitant to accept it as a young man in my late teens. As a minister-in-training, I traveled with my mentor, Evangelist Herman Hall, to assist with a revival in Liberal, Kansas, hosted by his dear friend, Pastor Alton Hyde. Serving alongside Evangelist Hall, his wife, Elect Lady Sharon Hall, and my own wife was a truly transformational experience. Throughout our travels, many spiritual giants spoke into my life, confirming the calling and anointing upon me. Later, when Bishop T.D. Jakes. Years ago, when Bishop T.D. Jakes relocated to Dallas, my family was living in Arlington, Texas. I was serving God faithfully there, holding family worship services in our apartment. Unbeknownst to us, one of the leaders from The Potter's House lived in our community and overheard us worshiping; he shared this with Bishop Jakes. One morning, my devoted wife expressed a desire to attend a service at The Potter's House. We prepared the children and went that Sunday, not realizing it was a setup by God for something truly extraordinary. We joined the church and were overjoyed to become part of such a wonderful spiritual family. Shortly after, I received a call from an Elder on staff offering me a position as a service technician. I was overwhelmed with amazement, and after interviewing for the role, I gladly accepted the position. I relocated to Dallas, Texas...many long years ago; my family was living in Arlington, Texas. Shortly after, I received a call from an Elder on staff offering me a position as a service technician. I was overwhelmed with amazement, and after interviewing for the role, I gladly accepted. While working there, I frequently shared the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ with staff and members. Recognizing the anointing on my life, the senior leadership invited me to participate in their inaugural ministers' ordination service. I was overjoyed to accept, and on February 21, 1997, I was ordained into the ministry, witnessed by my first mentor, Evangelist Herman Hall, and the fellowship at The Potter's House.
Since then, I have served through Christian radio and television, evangelism, prison ministry, care for the sick and shut-in, street ministry, and various houses of faith. My story is not over yet. Though I have faced death’s door and been forsaken by some, God in Jesus Christ has remained my Keeper.
the same community and overheard us worshiping the Lord, and he went back and related this to Bishop Jakes, and my long time devoted committed wife said one morning that she wanted to be in a hot services speaking of the Potters house so one Sunday morning we prepared the children to attend the services not knowing it was a set up for great awesome things by God, so we went and joined the Church being happy being apart of the fellowship and meeting our new spiritual family and making many precious friends. To make a long story short, I received a call from the Elder of the staff of the Potters House offering me a job as a service tech, and if I wanted the offer, come to the office. Lord, I was overwhelmed with such amazement and disbelief, and went to the interview and accepted the service tech job, and while working there I was preaching to many staff leaders and fellow members concerning the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, now the senior ministry staff heard of the anointing and fire in my life, they was getting ready to have their very first ministers' ordination service and asked if I wanted to get ordained into the ministry and I just knew that this was a dream or vision I was having, but of corrses this was real and I said yes being overjoyed, yes I received my ministry ordination witness by my first mentor Evangelists Herman Hall and massively preachers and members and fellowship family at the Potters house the year of our Lord 1997 of February 21st and have been on Christian radio as well as a short time of Christian television in Houston, Texas, having many years in evangelism, prisons and jails ministry, sick andshut ins care, street ministry and many houses of faith ministry and serving. My story is not over yet. God delivered me from death's door many times in my life and was forsaken by dear family members and friends, but God in Jesus Christ!!! He's A Keeper.
During those weeks, I received a profound vision regarding Isaiah 60:3-4, in which I saw myself ministering to believers from many nations. For a long time, I held this vision close, sharing it only with my precious, faithful wife, Elect Woman Betty Winfree. However, the Lord has made it clear that the time has come for this vision to manifest.
Years later, while reflecting on my journey—from my time in Arlington, Texas, to my ministry in Jacksonville, Florida—I found myself praying in the neighborhood where I grew up. I was burdened by the weight of age and the responsibility of caring for my family, wondering how I could continue the work the Lord had entrusted to me. It was then that my daughter, Tarsha, brought home a computer. As she showed me how to use it to connect with others, I heard a voice in my spirit declare that this technology would be my pulpit—a way to carry the gospel message across the United States and to the world. And the Lord said to me during this visitation that He has His chosen ones that He has prepared to work side by side, knowing what needs to be done without I have to tell them what needs to be done; they will know where they fit into the body of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am now ready and have fully embraced this calling and share this vision with you. As Jesus said when questioned about His Sonship: "If you cannot believe my words, then believe my works." In that same spirit, if you cannot believe my messages, I invite you to look at the work the Holy Spirit is accomplishing through me daily across my social media networking sites. He has allowed me to reach people from every walk of life—including you, reading this right now. Yes, there is much more the Lord has shown me concerning His vision I will be sharing with you all at a later date as the Lord permits. Amen.
