How We Are Doing Church?
Your Brother And Apostle: James Winfree Sr,
"THE CHURCH THAT JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF BUILT"
THE ORIGINAL CHURCH THAT JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF BUILT, IN THE BOOK
OF ACTS WITH HIS APOSTLES ,THE APOSTOLIC PURPOSE OF JESUS CHRIST
FOR THE CHURCH IN THE WORLD BUT NOT OF THIS WORLD:
If we are to “fellowship” with Christ for the fulfillment of the Church’s eternal purpose, we must begin with Him and His specific desires for us (Eph.3:9-12). If not, we will be limited to observing what seems to be working with others, overly value it, and miss what the Lord has specifically for us. When that takes places, we make copies of a copy and fall into the pit of imitating what others have done, emulating both them and their efforts.
But even if that would prove to be “successful,” it would lack the spirit of authenticity which comes from that which flows directly from Christ through the unveiling of His “mystery in The Holy Spirit” (Eph.3:4-5).
Therefore, to “fellowship” with Christ for the fulfillment of the Church’s eternal purpose, we must begin with not only Him and His specific desires, but also the first clearly intentional apostolic movement, which arose from the book of Acts, (Acts 13:1-5). Not only that, but we must carefully read the New Testament, tracking how the apostolic functioned in every instance. By doing so we will acknowledge that there are some eternal realities regarding apostolic anointing, ministry and expansion. We will then clearly see that the apostolic is framed with boundaries that define it as being an “outside” ministry, meaning:
•The apostolic is not only “out of the box,” it is also not from this world (Acts.20:24; 1Cor.15:8; John 8:23; 15:19)
•The apostolic has its place of operation in the public realm (Acts.1:8; Mark.16:20)
•The initial, outward movement of the apostolic is to those yet to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Gal.1:16, 2:9).
Here is a valid question: How much apostolic ministry have you witnessed that truly takes place in such a manner? Realizing that the answer will vary depending on what each has experienced, observed or participated, we must concede something that is essential. There is a much greater dimension of the apostolic yet to be released than we have experienced or perhaps even heard tell of. And within existing frameworks of ministry it is possible that the apostolic purpose of Jesus Christ has yet to even be envisioned in a fully New Testament way in our Churches today
.
The apostolic anointing was not given as a means for gathering people and resources “inside” the “four walls of men and women built buildings.” Neither was it given to provide a new vocabulary for identifying or defining leadership, nor for updating the organizational structure of the( local and where did this word come from?), and/or extended Church. The apostolic was given to fulfill the eternal purposes of God in Christ Jesus Holy Spirit, and the means He chose for establishing His “manifold wisdom” is the Church (Eph.3:10). But this will require us to be true to the original, yet also The Holy Spirit dimension of Christ’s apostolic purpose (Lk.24:44-49; Matt.28:18-20)
.
How can this Holy Spirit dimension be entered into? How can we experience it? To perpetuate the ongoing purposes of God through the Church, Jesus releases “measures” of His own apostolic nature and authority to those He has called to be “set” within it Study and read the book of Acts (2Cor.10:12-15; Eph.4:7-8; 1Cor.12:28). Therefore, those of us who have already received Christ have been given the apostolic as found in Acts chapter 2: verse 38 a word we all must follow and obey . . .
“for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ” (Eph.4:12-13).
By looking at the Scripture we can see that there is so much more than we have ever seen established. In obvious and varying ways, there exists an immense gap in the men and women built church world between what has been called for by God in Scripture and what we have experienced regarding the apostolic nature of Christ’s church.
Because of this “gap” we must conclude that what we have experienced as ‘apostolic’ is incomplete, preliminary and at best a preparation for what God has for us. By and large its impact has comprised mind renewal for acknowledging what Christ wants to come forth. But at the same time it is severely limited in revelation of what form the apostolic can take and the purpose it was given to ultimately accomplish.
So without greater revelation, many who have participated will not only be without a Holy Spirit apostolic purpose, but also see that which has seemed to be accomplished continually going away and dwindle to perhaps nothing. This is because with God we either continue to grow and change or we go backward into the old of tradition and into our old ways of doing ministry as we see in today's Churches (Phil 3::12-16; 2Tim.3:1-7). Although there may be periods of time when it doesn’t seem to be “going anywhere,” doing nothing than “hanging on” or hanging in there,
” The Lord Jesus is always at work to bring us into more by the men and women He called and sent to His Church Kingdom.
With any restoration movement, there are telltale symptoms of dormancy and/or lifelessness. It is also the same with congregations, networks or denominations which become “stuck” on the “self” of “who we are.” When the energy of God for continual movement upward and onward into recapturing Acts Church experience is lost, resisted or rejected, two alternate paths emerge. There is (1) an emphasis on rallying everyone around fresh and/or different teachings and success stories.
And with all groups, when there inertia from God dissipates for the reasons already stated, and they begin to wane in anointing and impact (2) they move toward emphasizing that the move is now shifting to inaugurate societal change for manifesting the Kingdom of God in secular government. As it applies to what we have witnessed with the previous “measure” of the apostolic, it has become no different.
This is not something new. Every Christian group throughout the history of the Church begins moving in these directions when the initial energy and blessing of God which was on them begins to fade.
Check it out. Some may contend that it is different with the apostolic. Or, that it does not apply in this instance. That it is the ‘move of moves’ or the last ‘new thing’ that must take place before the Church will function at it fullest and/or become ready for the Second Coming. But when looking at Scripture, you will see not only that the Apostles neither prioritized nor emphasized these.
But that neither of these activities were on the itinerary of the earliest Apostles at all, nor is such an emphasis found anywhere in the New Testament. In fact, the relevancy and/or necessity of “super-apostles” is rebuked (Gal.2:6; 1Tim.1:7; 2Tim.4:3; 2Pet.2:1-4; Col.2:18-19). And when it comes to the Kingdom of God, Jesus actually opposes this entirely (John 8::23; 15:19; 18:26). So does Paul (1Tim.2:1-4; Ro.13:1-8; 14:17).
But where I differ with some is in regard to my understanding of what has taken place with what has been called “the Apostolic Movement.” Some have called it false; I contend that it has been “incomplete, preliminary and at best a preparation for what God has for us.” Either way, we need more. We must have more. The Lord Jesus is calling for more in The Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit is leading us into more. So, again, if we are to “fellowship” with Christ for the fulfillment of the Church’s eternal purpose, we must begin with the original apostolic movement where all of God's people need or needs was met and their was no lack.
Moreover, we must begin with the original apostolic “Mover:” The Lord Jesus Christ. If not, we will make continue pursuing that which has not been charted by The Lord Jesus Christ to ultimately be “the course,” one which will fail us because it falls woefully short.
"TRUE APOSTOLIC CALLING IS TO BRING UNITY AND KINGDOM BLESSINGS
TO ALL OF GOD'S CHILDREN IN JESUS CHRIST”
Some may say: “well, some progress is better than none.” I agree, but surely we cannot honestly believe we can park at any spot we may have ventured to and say “this is it.” Many times, what takes place cannot even honestly be called “this is that” (Acts 2:36-47 and Acts 4:24-37). And anything less or different than God’s original purpose produces a mixture of flesh and Spirit which limits our vision and emphasis to the realm of “His Church those of us who folow and have made Jesus Christ Lord of our lives” (1Cor.2:6-8; 3:18). “This time Church” is an important metaphor of The Lord for us to receive revelation of.
“This time Church” is not only a definition of what is temporary it is also the evidence of just how limited those things be which are not eternal (2Cor.3:3-6). Including all man made systems and the even governments of nations (Rev.11:15). These all remain natural in their substance and power. Even when they fit into God’s purpose (Isa.2:1-4). These not only have a limited life span, but also a purpose which ceases when they no longer exist (Rev.11:16-19). And those are the matters of “this time Church.”
As Apostle Paul told us, there are “things destined to perish with use” which must not be the focus or goal of our lives with God (Col.2:22). Many have said this in more vivid ways, such as “you can’t take it with you,” or by asking the question: “have you ever seen a Hearse pulling a U-Haul?” Therefore, we realize ultimately that in “this age” any and all things which can be owned, accomplished, or established are temporal, temporary (Lk.12:16-21; 2Cor.4:17-18). Even our marriage partners and family members are subject to the Kingdom of God (Mt.22:23-32; Lk.14:16-33).
“This time Church” will not only consume all it participates in, it is subject to God’s refining fire. This is why so much of what takes place in the Church world- even the “cutting edge” arena of anointed people and ministries- fails to completely root and grow past the “seed” form. The “meeting” is over, the “conference” has concluded, the “special event” has taken place, but no change has come after “the anointing lifts.” As the Lord told us through our Apostle Paul:
“According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work. If any man's work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. . . Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise” (1Cor.3:10-15, 18) Men and Women built church buildings will not stand on that Day people.
We may tire of hearing the “you cannot put new wine into old wineskins” metaphor, but ministry with a goal of establishing “us and ours” in “this time Church” by using the power which truly belongs to “the children of God in Christ Jesus, to come” will not last (Heb.6:5). Not only that, what belongs to “this teaching and preaching” becomes a corrupted influence infecting every part of what it touches with the goal of “self” (1Cor.3:18). It is not just wearisome and eventually futile to pursue temporal goals in Christ’s Name with Supernatural Energy intended for eternal purposes, it is totally carnal and ultimately pleasing to the “gods of this age money, power, pleasures of the flesh,” Lucifer works and his evil kingdom (; 2Cor.4:4). And God has made it very clear that we are not to be conformed to “this world” ( John 17:9-26), ( Rom.12:2 ).
“THE TIME IS COME FOR THE REAL TRUE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST TO BE ONE IN THE WORD, LOVE, UNITY AND EQUALITY IN THE FAITH” HAS ALREADY COME TO WHO ARE IN JESUS CHRIST!
Instead, we are to be participants and apostolic harbingers of “the time is now” that began when we received Christ as Lord and Savior (Lk.17:20-21; John 3::16; Eph.1:21). We were not only promised a future in God, we were given “the earnest” on “our inheritance” (2Cor.1:22; Eph.1:14).
We were not only told of what will one day take place, we have already “tasted the powers to come” (Heb.6:5). In and by the Spirit we are to be representatives of this eternal reality, by both our lives and words of witness (Acts 1:8; Ro.16:17-19). And through the Holy Spirit “He who prepared us for this very purpose is God” (2Cor.5:5).
As stated earlier, there is a difference between what is false and what is “incomplete, preliminary and at best a preparation for what God has for us.” But whether we be lacking or even false, eternal grace cannot come under the authority of “this time.” The Holy Spirit Power of Christ the Apostle cannot be used for what God promises to give us to serve Him with at the expense of allowing Christ to establish that which actually IS eternal (Matt 6::25:33; Deut 8::18; Mt.16:16-19).
REPENT PASTORS AND PREACHERS FOR NOT DOING WHAT CHRIST JESUS CALLED YOU TO DO IN HIS KINGDOM AND FOR HIS CHILDREN OF THE BLESSED KINGDOM”
Whether we find ourselves “incomplete, preliminary and at best a preparation” or “false,” neither progress nor any idol of the past must be allowed to keep us from Christ’s fellowship with Him “now” (Heb.11:1, 6). Therefore, it is time for some to confess, renounce, and even denounce using what the Father did in sending Jesus and what the Lord Himself paid for with His very blood to secure the “self” of “us and ours” because of “who we are.”
To experience a new apostolic purpose there must be repentance for doctrines and structures which bear man’s image (& ultimately man’s Name) rather than Christ’s. It is time for Godly sorrow to come upon those using the apostolic anointing, ministry and mission as an “inside” ministry. The “measure” given by Christ is for far much more than the “four walls of your man made kingdoms” of a “members only” cloister. And it was never given to secure either “self” or “who we are” under the authority of “this time” in order to expand a “sphere of influence.”
